The Power of Love
Welcome to Wrapped in Love, a non-profit organization born from a deeply personal journey. My name is Laëtitia Baudet Mpoutou, the founder, and my motivation to create this initiative stems from a heartbreaking experience that changed my life forever.
Inaya, my precious baby girl, left us at 5 months of pregnancy. The pain of loss was compounded when, after the surgical procedure, I asked to hold her. Instead, she was handed to me wrapped in surgical pads—an image that haunts me to this day. The dehumanization of my daughter during that moment left a lasting trauma, a memory etched in my heart.
As an avid knitter, I couldn’t help but wish for a different scenario. I longed for the first time I would see and hold Inaya to be adorned with the warmth of a soft baby blanket, crafted with love. The vivid and violent image of her wrapped in surgical pads fueled a passion within me to spare other families from enduring a similar experience.
And so, Wrapped in Love was born—a heartfelt initiative to embrace our baby angels with the love and comfort of knitted baby blankets. Each stitch in our blankets symbolizes the profound love we hold in our hearts for our babies and their families. Through our organization, we aim to transform moments of grief into ones filled with warmth, compassion, and the enduring strength of shared love.
Together, we knit love into every blanket, stitching hope and comfort into the fabric of our shared stories.
